Dunstanburgh (in the Footsteps of Turner)

Dunstanburgh appears to have been one of Turner’s favourite subjects, painting it as he did many times and given its spectacular position this is hardly surprising. He painted it in watercolour and oil in many lighting conditions, but always at dawn or at least early morning.
