The beautiful river Swale tumbles through some of Yorkshire’s most stunning and rugged countryside. The steep valley sides are typical Yoredale beds of alternating Limestone and Gritstone; it’s a valley once dominated by glacier and retreat moraines can still be seen in the lower Dale near Grinton.
